  • Snug

    Once the boot is on and entirely laced up there is a simple kick test that can be performed to make sure the boot fits well. Once the boot is on, kick the wall. The toes should not touch the end of the boot, and they should not feel cramped either.
  • Heels
    The heels of the foot should not rub up against the heel of the foot. The heel should not be able to move around in the boot, but it should not be too tight either.
  • Ankles
    To test for the proper ankle support stand on the side of the feet once the boots are fully laced up. The ankle should be adequately supported. There should not be pain either.
  • Keep the Boots Clean
    As the boots are worn, they may tend to get dirty. This can affect the fit of the boot. Be sure to wear clean socks when putting on the boots. Even if the boots look clean, there may be some small dirt particles that can lead to foot irritation. It is recommended to wear wool socks to keep moisture away from the foot.
  • Keep the Boots Dry
    Unless the boots are designed for a particular purpose such as winter boots, be sure to keep them dry. Wet boots can shrink is a size and can affect the fit. It is also a good idea to put some foot power in the boot before wearing them. This will help keep the moisture for irritating the foot and will help keep the boot dry. If the boots did get wet, put a piece of newspaper in them overnight. This will help dry them out.
